Mason's accelerated master's programs cater to exceptional undergraduate students seeking an efficient path to advanced degrees. These programs enable participants to earn both bachelor's and master's qualifications faster and more affordably.
The simplified admission process waives application fees entirely.
Participants can count 12 graduate-level credits toward their undergraduate requirements.
An option exists to complete 6 additional graduate credits that exclusively count toward the master's degree.
Undergraduates may begin their graduate studies with up to 18 credits already completed.
The College of Humanities & Social Sciences' Interdisciplinary Studies (MAIS) program fosters academic innovation while upholding rigorous standards. Established in 1982, this program addresses the need for flexible graduate education that crosses traditional academic boundaries.
What makes our program distinctive is its role as an incubator for new master's degree tracks, keeping Mason at the forefront of educational innovation. Several current standalone master's programs, including those in Anthropology, Communication, and Higher Education, originated as MAIS concentrations. This dynamic approach ensures continuous program development.
