To cultivate middle and high school students' understanding and passion for mathematics, educators require more than just mathematical expertise. This program enhances teacher candidates' grasp of adolescent learning processes, educational principles, and effective math instruction techniques.
During the initial year's fall and spring terms, participants spend three full days weekly in classrooms: observing for three weeks, followed by ten weeks of student teaching in the same setting.
In the second academic year's fall and spring semesters, candidates dedicate five full days each week to classroom experience: two weeks of observation, then twelve weeks of student teaching in the same classroom environment.
