Opportunities exist through collaborations between Mathematics Department professors and the neighboring Oak Ridge National Laboratory, with interdisciplinary options such as Computer Science or Data Science degrees. A conventional Master of Science program is provided by the department. The MS degree presents both thesis and non-thesis pathways, demanding 30 credit hours of graduate study, typically completable within two years. Numerous students achieve their MS while advancing toward a PhD.
