Sports Medicine offers a comprehensive educational approach across multiple disciplines. The curriculum focuses on preventing injuries, providing emergency treatment, and facilitating recovery by applying concepts from anatomy, physiology, pathology, biomechanics, and psychology. Student interns gain practical experience at the Athletic Treatment Center under the guidance of diverse Sports Medicine experts. This program is ideal for those pursuing careers in medicine, athletic training, physical therapy, chiropractic care, nutrition, or related health professions. Participants will develop foundational knowledge and skills in various sports medicine areas, such as athletic training, physical rehabilitation, strength conditioning, and emergency medical response.
Through assisting with medical care for Foothill College's intercollegiate teams, students acquire hands-on experience to prepare for future roles in sports medicine.
