The Master of Science in Statistics with a specialization in Statistical Data Science focuses on practical training in applying data management and statistical techniques, along with proficiency in computational and analytical software, to prepare graduates for high-demand careers. This program equips students with applied statistical knowledge and expertise in SAS and R programming to address common data challenges encountered in government and industry decision-making. Florida State University's Statistics Department provides two MS programs: a standard MS in Statistics (36 credit hours) and an MS in Statistics with a Statistical Data Science concentration (32 credit hours).
Additionally, the department offers an MS in Biostatistics (36 credit hours). Students may complete any of these master's degrees through coursework or a thesis track.

At least a Baccalaureate degree from an accredited U.S. institution, or a comparable degree from an international institution, with a minimum 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average GPA in all coursework attempted while registered as an upper-division undergraduate student working towards a bachelor's degree, OR
A graduate degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, or a comparable degree from an international institution, AND
TEST SCORES - Scores will be considered by the department for up to 5 years after the exam is taken. If ETS will not send your scores but it has been within 5 years since you sat for an exam, please include your official test score copy in your online application. FSU's school code is 5219

GRE Scores- The GRE IS REQUIRED for Ph.D. applicants, however, FSU is waiving the GRE for MS applicants for spring and fall 2024.
