The Italian Program provides a Master's degree that encompasses diverse areas of Italian studies, from literature and culture to politics and visual arts. Our graduate curriculum spans every literary era, from medieval times to the modern day. We foster the growth of our students' research capabilities while helping them establish a strong academic foundation for their careers. Through innovative teaching instruction, we enhance their educational techniques and communication abilities, equipping them for multiple professional opportunities.
Italian MA candidates are urged to investigate different cultural perspectives and academic fields. They have access to classes from other language programs in the Modern Languages and Linguistics Department and benefit from cross-disciplinary partnerships with areas like Art History, English, Classics, History, Music, and Women's Studies.
A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited U.S. institution, or a comparable degree from an international institution, with a minimum 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) grade point average (GPA) in all coursework attempted while enrolled as an upper-division undergraduate student working towards a bachelor's degree
