The French Division provides Master's and Doctoral programs covering diverse areas of French and Francophone studies, from literature to cultural analysis and modern societal issues. Our faculty dedicates itself to equipping graduate students with solid scholarly foundations, exposure to emerging field developments, and comprehensive teacher training. The programs encourage interdisciplinary exploration across various academic domains. As part of the Modern Languages Department, the French Division collaborates extensively with other language divisions like Chinese, German, Italian, Japanese, Russian, and Spanish-Portuguese. Furthermore, we maintain strong partnerships with multiple university departments and interdisciplinary initiatives, including Humanities, Women's Studies, Asian Studies, and Afro-Caribbean Studies, among others.
