The FSU College of Music fosters a stimulating atmosphere where students can pursue varied interests while receiving individualized guidance to reach their educational and vocational aspirations.
The College serves as home to multiple campus orchestras, bands, choirs, jazz groups, early music ensembles, 9 global music groups, various chamber ensembles, plus the Florida State Opera and Music Theater Program. Annually, we present around 350 performances and events, frequently welcoming national conferences, masterclasses, and celebrations like our biennial Festival of New Music. Our distinguished history informs our commitment to excellence while motivating us toward ongoing improvement. However, our true measure lies in how we serve you—the aspiring musicians who will fill our practice rooms, lecture halls, and studios. We welcome students at every level who are committed to maximizing their professional development. We seek individuals who will enhance FSU's vibrant musical culture. Above all, we desire students who will cherish our College's welcoming spirit. Florida State University has maintained accreditation with the National Association of Schools of Music since 1930.
