The Yale School of Music's trombone program provides students with comprehensive training, from mastering foundational techniques to interpreting diverse musical styles spanning historical to contemporary works. Participants engage in weekly one-on-one instruction and group seminars while gaining performance experience across multiple ensembles. Beyond solo performances, trombonists collaborate in chamber groups, a hallmark of Yale's musical education. The curriculum includes specialized early music study through the Yale Cornetto and Sackbut Ensemble, modern repertoire through New Music New Haven, and orchestral performance with the Yale Philharmonia. These varied performance platforms allow students to work with world-renowned conductors while expanding their musical versatility.
