The History Department provides a master's program with specialized studies across five cultural regions: Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the United States.
Graduates of our master's program excel in diverse professional fields or advance to further academic pursuits. Alumni have pursued doctoral studies at renowned universities worldwide, enrolled in top-tier law schools, or secured positions with government agencies including the DIA, FEMA, and State Department.
At FIU's History Department, students examine humanity's journey from antiquity to modern times through multiple perspectives. The curriculum emphasizes hands-on work with primary materials, including documents, visual artifacts, cultural objects, and oral histories.
Through partnerships like The Wolfsonian-FIU, we enhance educational opportunities, while our connection to The Green School enables students to investigate various cultural disciplines, including Latin American & Caribbean studies.
