Our Master of Arts in history program provides exceptional preparation in research and writing techniques. Students can focus their coursework on any specialization within American, European, or World history, with guidance from a faculty advisor specializing in their chosen field.

Learners collaborate closely with distinguished faculty mentors who are internationally respected experts.
Graduate students design personalized study tracks aligned with their academic interests. Working with faculty, they assemble a three-person advisory committee representing different historical specialties or eras. A History Department faculty member will act as the primary advisor.
The program requires completion of 30 credit hours, along with either passing a language proficiency test or completing three additional credit hours in their major or minor concentration.
Applicants must have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university or appropriately evaluated credentials for non-U.S. schools.
English Language Proficiency: TOEFL: internet based - 79, or paper based - 550. A score of at least 6.5 is required on the IELTS.
