The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering strives to deliver an outstanding undergraduate program that fosters innovation for its students. Our goal is to graduate individuals whose academic performance rivals or surpasses that of top state-funded engineering schools, while also increasing diversity by supporting historically underrepresented groups, particularly African-American and female students. We seek national and global prominence through exceptional faculty and student research, scholarship, professional activities, and community service. Our vision is to establish ourselves as a premier Electrical and Computer Engineering program that benefits both our state and country. By leveraging core engineering strengths in signals, controls, power systems, electronics, and robotics, we intend to develop groundbreaking solutions for critical challenges in healthcare, environmental sustainability, and industrial advancement.
