Florida A&M University's Music Teacher Education program is an accredited teacher preparation program recognized by the State of Florida. Students can pursue a Bachelor of Science in Music Teacher Education with two specialized tracks: Wind and Percussion or Voice/Piano concentration. This comprehensive program equips graduates to teach music across all grade levels (K-12) in public schools. The curriculum encompasses music theory, history, performance studies, ensemble participation, and specialized teaching methods, culminating in a student teaching placement during the final semester. The Wind and Percussion concentration (134 credit hours) prepares instrumental music educators for school and collegiate settings, while the Voice/Piano track (131 credit hours) focuses on developing vocal and keyboard instructors for similar educational environments.
