Alongside liberal arts studies, you'll specialize in a certification field (such as biology, chemistry, earth sciences, English, French, German, mathematics, physics, social studies, or Spanish) while also exploring complementary arts and sciences subjects. This program equips future educators with deep subject knowledge, understanding of learning theories, and insights into adolescent growth.
Starting typically in your third year, hands-on field experiences in varied school environments will ready you for classroom leadership. Our Clinical Practice and Partnerships Office facilitates placements where you can both observe and guide instruction across diverse locations. Students often gain experience in Central New York schools or urban districts including Syracuse, Rochester, and New York City.
