The MDiv/JD and MTS/JD programs integrate legal education with ministerial or theological studies. Alumni frequently enter legal professions, focusing on areas like advocacy, ethical issues, sociopolitical theory, policy development, or ecclesiastical matters. These joint degrees, offered in partnership with Emory's School of Law, enable students to earn both qualifications in either five years (MDiv/JD) or four years (MTS/JD) - reducing the typical duration by one year compared to separate degree paths. Applicants must gain admission to both Candler School of Theology and the School of Law through their distinct application processes.
All post-secondary education will include a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, as well as post-baccalaureate degrees and other coursework not undertaken for a degree.
If you are an international applicant, you may need to submit TOEFL scores.
