The Hebrew Bible (HB) Program aims to familiarize students with diverse approaches for analyzing the Hebrew Bible, along with an expansive framework for examining its language and texts. These approaches encompass traditional historical-critical techniques as well as contemporary social-scientific, literary, and visual analysis methods. The framework incorporates both the ancient Near Eastern setting with its various cultures, and the scholarly tradition and interpretive history of the Hebrew Bible. Learners are additionally motivated to cultivate cross-disciplinary knowledge in relevant areas that can deepen their understanding of the Hebrew Bible and associated writings.
