The doctoral program in Information Systems and Operations Management (ISOM) is available through Goizueta Business School's ISOM department. Candidates can specialize in either Information Systems (IS) or Operations Management (OM). Information serves as a fundamental business element, with information systems representing the critical mechanisms that process, convert, and transfer data across organizations. The IS concentration examines these concepts through the lenses of managerial application, organizational potential, and commercial opportunities. Operations Management represents a vital business discipline focused on efficiently overseeing product/service development along with production and distribution logistics. Scholarly work in this field spans diverse subjects and draws from multiple academic domains such as Economics, Statistics, Psychology, and Operations Research. The OM doctoral curriculum facilitates close collaboration between students and faculty on practical research challenges. Faculty members conduct empirical studies in healthcare operations, supply chain optimization, operational strategy, retail management, pricing strategies, and innovation processes.
The program typically requires four years of full-time study to complete, though some students may require an additional year to finish all requirements.
