The UNT Information Science Ph.D. program (also known as the IIS Ph.D. program) addresses the diverse and evolving demands of the digital era, featuring a specialized track in Health Informatics. This concentration is developed through collaboration across multiple UNT departments and colleges, aiming to deliver interdisciplinary education, research opportunities, and professional services in health informatics. The Health Informatics specialization equips students to investigate key challenges in health informatics and related fields, emphasizing the convergence of information science, healthcare systems, and technological innovation.
The UNT Information Science Ph.D. program's Health Informatics concentration meets the dynamic requirements of our information-driven society, acknowledging the growing importance of data and digital solutions in personal, societal, economic, and cultural contexts. The program attracts students from diverse academic backgrounds, fostering the development and redirection of their skills toward emerging interdisciplinary areas of information science.
