Emory's English PhD program provides a stimulating yet collaborative atmosphere where students engage with faculty at the forefront of research while developing their own scholarly and teaching identities. Our department fosters an authentic intellectual community that encourages rigorous exploration within English studies and interdisciplinary connections. At Emory University's English Department, graduate students experience an academically challenging yet supportive environment, working alongside pioneering researchers while receiving guidance to cultivate their own careers as scholars and educators.
All post-secondary education will include a Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent, as well as post-baccalaureate degrees and other coursework not undertaken for a degree.
If you are an international applicant, you may need to submit TOEFL scores.
Applications to the graduate program are due December 1.
