Founded in 1941, Eastern Michigan University's Occupational Therapy Program boasts a rich history of excellence, delivering skilled and compassionate professionals to communities across Michigan and nationwide.

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics Occupational Outlook Handbook, occupational therapist employment is projected to surge by 17.5% between 2020 and 2030, significantly outpacing average job growth. This growth stems from rising needs among aging populations, individuals with chronic conditions, and children/adults with autism. New specialties like driver rehabilitation and fall prevention are also expanding. Occupational therapists work in varied environments including hospitals, schools, rehab centers, long-term care facilities, home healthcare, and wellness programs. U.S. News and World Report (2023) ranked Occupational Therapy among the top 100 best careers overall.

The occupational therapy degree offers two entry pathways. Accepted students join a single cohort regardless of their chosen track. Please examine the options below to determine which path aligns with your goals.
