The Master of Public Administration (M.P.A.) is a professional degree designed for individuals pursuing careers in government or non-profit organizations. Applicants from all academic backgrounds are welcome. This versatile degree opens doors to careers in municipal governance, urban development, economic development, nonprofit leadership, public finance, and fiscal administration. The need for skilled public and nonprofit administrators continues to grow both locally and nationally. Rooted in a rich heritage of municipal leadership education, the M.P.A. program offers specialized tracks. Those completing the city management specialization earn a Master of City Management (M.C.M.) degree, providing distinct recognition in the field of municipal administration. Students selecting alternative specializations will receive the standard M.P.A. degree.

Qualification Requirements
A student applying to the M.P.A. program must meet both the requirements for admission to the university as a graduate student and the admission criteria for the program. The student must submit transcripts of all academic work previously completed, scores on the verbal and quantitative sections of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE), and three letters of recommendation. Admission criteria include satisfactory undergraduate grade point average, satisfactory GRE scores, and letters of recommendation. Questions about admission requirements should be directed to the M.P.A. director.
Students admitted to other graduate programs in the university may enroll in public administration courses (prefix PMGT) if they have completed the prerequisites, if any.
Applicants must meet the following GPA requirement - 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
