The Biomedical Science Program at the James H. Quillen College of Medicine provides doctoral studies culminating in a Ph.D. in Biomedical Science, with specializations available in cardiovascular research, molecular and cellular biology, immunology and infectious diseases, neuroscience, and pharmaceutical sciences. This curriculum equips students for research-oriented professions across the life sciences. Qualification Requirements

All applications for admission to the Ph.D. program will be reviewed by the Recruitment and Admissions Subcommittee of the Biomedical Science Program. Admission decisions are made on the basis of an overall evaluation of the applicant's ability to complete advanced study in Biomedical Science. Particular attention is paid to the applicant's cumulative GPA, performance in physical science and natural sciences courses, scores for the Graduate Record Examination and letters of recommendation. A personal interview may be required.
GPA - International applicants: 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale)
Graduate students whose native language is not English must submit one of the following: Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): Score of 79 (Internet-Based), Score of 550 (Paper-based). International English Language Testing System (IELTS): Score of 6.5.
