The Communication Studies program offers concentrations in Communication Studies and Storytelling, equipping students with key professional skills highly valued by employers. These include conflict resolution, team collaboration and leadership, diversity awareness, ethical communication, and professional interaction across various formats - from written memos to presentations and corporate training sessions. The Communication Studies track specifically develops abilities useful for law school, counseling careers, and roles in strategic communications, healthcare administration, patient advocacy, social work, religious leadership, HR, sales, professional development, client relations, and management positions. This degree path also serves as strong preparation for careers focused on social justice, community involvement, and diversity initiatives. Additionally, the department offers a 36-credit teacher education major and 24-credit teaching minor in communication studies.
