Duquesne University's Athletic Training program integrates classroom learning, hands-on clinical practice, and dedicated faculty guidance to develop future certified athletic trainers. Building upon Duquesne's renowned liberal arts heritage and Health Sciences expertise, our innovative Athletic Training curriculum offers students a thorough grounding in both fundamental and advanced health sciences. The program cultivates evidence-based, patient-focused healthcare providers through a rigorous educational approach. For three decades, we've delivered exceptional training that fosters analytical reasoning and adaptability, equipping students for the evolving healthcare landscape. Our accelerated Master's pathway enables students to complete both a Bachelor of Science (BSHS) and Master of Science in Athletic Training (MSAT) within five years. The initial Pre-Professional Phase (Years 1-3) establishes a robust foundation in health and exercise science, while the subsequent Professional Phase (Years 4-5) delivers intensive athletic training education through academic and clinical immersion. Program graduates emerge ready to serve as certified athletic trainers, delivering care to active populations across diverse healthcare environments.
