Our research primarily aims to uncover the biological foundations of behavior. Using advanced neuroscience methods, we explore the neural mechanisms behind typical behaviors and mental health conditions. The Systems and Behavioral Neuroscience team comprises students and professors from various disciplines, all united by the core objective of deciphering behavior's biological roots. This diverse collective focuses on studying monoamine systems, peptide neurotransmitters, and the effects of psychostimulant drugs. Current investigations utilize a wide range of techniques—including neurochemical analysis, electrophysiology, computational modeling, brain imaging, neuroanatomy, and behavioral assessments—to examine both healthy brain operations and neurological, neurodegenerative, and psychiatric conditions.
