This PhD program in Health Services Research and Policy prepares doctoral candidates to conduct innovative quantitative, qualitative, and mixed-methods research in health policy and services, both domestically and internationally, focusing on studies that can directly inform policy decisions, programs, and practical applications.
Participants gain from collaborating with the multidisciplinary faculty of the Department of Health Management and Policy, leveraging the Dornsife School of Public Health's focus on urban health and equity, and benefiting from its Philadelphia location—the nation's sixth-largest city—where academic institutions, government agencies, nonprofits, and community groups actively collaborate to tackle health challenges.
Current PhD candidates at Drexel Dornsife are investigating critical areas including mental healthcare systems, Latino/Hispanic community health, urban health inequities, food accessibility, and substance abuse prevention.
