The Associate in Arts in Elementary Teacher Education for Transfer is a multidisciplinary program designed to align with state requirements, helping students start their journey to becoming elementary educators. Those pursuing this major enhance their analytical reasoning, problem-solving abilities, and both written and oral communication skills. As elementary teacher education students, they gain practical experiences applicable to various child- and family-focused careers, such as special education, primary education, and social services. This program includes hands-on fieldwork opportunities in elementary school settings.
Student will qualify for admission with one of the following: a high school diploma, by passing the California Certificate of Proficiency Test or General Education Development Test (GED) or be at least 18 years old and no longer enrolled in high school.
