The JD/MA in International Studies offered through the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences (LAS) equips students with an understanding of the political, economic, and cultural contexts shaping international law. Focused on global political economy and cultural studies, this program is ideal for law students possessing foreign language proficiency or social science expertise who aspire to become international legal professionals. Admission to this dual-degree program requires completion of at least 28 College of Law credits while maintaining a minimum 3.00 GPA. Applicants must submit their LAS graduate program application following their initial law school semester.

Qualification Requirements

Applicants who have completed coursework or earned degrees from international institutions should submit their international transcripts through LSAC's Credential Assembly Service. This service is included in the standard Credential Assembly Service fee. International transcripts received will be sent to the American Association of Collegiate Registrars and Admissions Officers (AACRAO) where the transcript will be authenticated and analyzed. The data will be assembled into an International Credential Evaluation document that contains AACRAO's summary, copies of the transcripts (and translations, as necessary) and a TOEFL, IELTS or DET (Duolingo English Test) score, TOEFL/IELTS/DET score - 90 on the iBT, 577 on the PBT, 6.5 on the IELTS or 115 on the DuoLingo English Test.
