Working alongside the UT Center for Middle Eastern Studies (MES), this dual degree program merges MGPS with Middle Eastern Studies, blending comprehensive globalization studies with specialized knowledge of Middle Eastern politics, economics, and cultures. The curriculum equips students to navigate governance complexities in today's dynamic world, where emerging transnational trends disrupt conventional public administration approaches.
Participants will merge Middle Eastern language, cultural, historical, and political-economic studies with global challenges like climate change, international water conflicts, global trade negotiations, regional trade pacts, and geopolitical influences on stability. Both degrees can be completed concurrently in about three years, conferred upon fulfilling all academic requirements. The program requires either 67 or 70 credit hours (67 for thesis option, 70 for professional report).
