Enrollment in this program is competitive. The Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) to Registered Nurse (RN) Transition Program requires at least three (3) academic quarters to complete, excluding summer sessions. LVN Transition students join the RN program with advanced standing, as assessed by the Nursing Program director. Previous clinical experience in acute care settings may affect a student's placement level. Program admission is subject to available openings, with most classes scheduled during daytime hours. Applicants must possess a valid California LVN license and IV certification.

Upon completion, graduates qualify to sit for the California NCLEX-RN licensing exam. The program accepts advanced placement students year-round. After admission, the curriculum spans a minimum of three (3) quarters (not counting prerequisite courses).
