The Louise Herrington School of Nursing provides upper-level bachelor's and master's programs (for juniors and seniors) at Dallas's Baylor University Medical Center, a renowned teaching and research hospital. Undergraduate students work toward their Bachelor of Science in Nursing while preparing for RN licensure exams. Nursing majors (initially classified as pre-majors) complete their first 60 credit hours in Waco before transferring to Dallas for the final 65 credits. The school maintains full accreditation from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and holds approval from the Texas Board of Nursing.
Baylor's nursing program blends liberal arts with natural and behavioral sciences during the first two years. The Dallas-based portion focuses on advanced coursework and practical training, equipping students for professional nursing careers. Clinical rotations take place within the Baylor Scott & White Health system, with an 8:1 student-to-faculty ratio. This longstanding partnership with Baylor's healthcare network gives graduates a strong advantage in the employment market.
