Anthropology explores humanity through multiple lenses, combining cultural, social, historical, and evolutionary viewpoints to understand human diversity as one unified field. By bridging the divide between humanities and sciences, it investigates both our species' biological development and the rich tapestry of global societies, cultures, and peoples throughout history. United in purpose, anthropology's specialized branches aim to piece together a comprehensive understanding of human existence, which is why Dartmouth's Anthropology Department provides an integrated curriculum covering archaeology, biological anthropology, cultural anthropology, and linguistic studies.
