Dartmouth's African and African American Studies (AAAS) program is an interdisciplinary hub of cutting-edge research, providing courses that combine diverse theoretical approaches. AAAS students examine the evolving historical, social, political, and cultural frameworks of Africa, its global diaspora, and their worldwide connections. Established in 1969, this academic unit began as an educational initiative.
