Cornell's Viticulture & Enology program tackles the distinctive obstacles of New York's winemaking region—its chilly climate, soil conditions, grape cultivars, pest pressures, and market dynamics—while equipping students with comprehensive knowledge of global viticultural and oenological practices. Learners gain hands-on experience with diverse grape varieties and winemaking methods, crafting wines in an area known for significant seasonal variations. Housed within Cornell's College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, this world-class program leads in developing table, juice, and wine grapes suited to cooler climates. Through pioneering trellis designs, novel grape breeding, integrated pest management, vineyard optimization, and winemaking excellence, Cornell delivers unmatched educational, research, and outreach programs for viticulturists, winemakers, and students at all levels.
Students completing their high school during the 2021-22 academic year or if they've graduated from high school but have earned fewer than 12 credits at a college or university are eligible for admission as first year students.
TOEFL - Score of 100 and above (Internet-based exam); 70 and above on the PTE Academic; IELTS - Score of 7.5.
