The independent major provides a unique opportunity for students whose academic goals cannot be fulfilled through existing standard majors. This pathway enables students to design a customized, interdisciplinary program of study. Students develop their curriculum in collaboration with faculty advisors, requiring approval from the Independent Major Committee, which oversees their academic progress. Important notice: Because of current enrollment constraints and advising capacity, the independent major cannot accommodate students focusing on Computer Science as either their primary or secondary field.
