The Sound Art Program looks for artists profoundly committed to sound as an artistic medium and eager to join a vibrant, diverse community of creators. Students enjoy the flexibility to experiment across disciplines including sculpture, video, ceramics, new media, performance, and conceptual approaches, all while emphasizing sound's integration with these forms. This two-year MFA program, offered in collaboration with the Department of Music and Computer Music Center, culminates in a Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts from the School of the Arts. With extremely limited enrollment of just three to four students annually, the program maintains rigorous standards. Since its inception in 2013, graduates have achieved notable success, creating large-scale installations for prestigious galleries, composing for major films and renowned musical ensembles, and pursuing doctoral studies in artistic practice, composition, music theory, electronic music, and auditory perception.
