Develop the skills to address modern public health issues through the MD-MPH program offered by the Mailman School of Public Health (MSPH). Medical students choose a public health specialization from these available tracks: Biostatistics, Epidemiology, General Public Health, Health Policy and Management, Population and Family Health, or Sociomedical Sciences. The program requires 39 public health credits beyond the MD requirements, with at least 32 credits needing MSPH tuition payment - equivalent to nearly a full academic year (two semesters). During their first three years at VP&S, medical students can enroll in MSPH courses under their medical school registration without additional fees, except for the mandatory public health core semester which requires MSPH registration. Typically, students complete the public health program between their third and fourth medical school years (during the Differentiation and Integration phase), earning both degrees within five years.
