Designed for those with solid backgrounds in science and math, regardless of research experience, the MHS in Epidemiology is a rigorous two-year program emphasizing the application of epidemiological and biostatistical techniques to contemporary public health challenges. Competitive candidates demonstrate enthusiasm for employing sophisticated quantitative analysis on public health data and effectively translating findings. Participants choose a specialized research track, complete a minimum of 64 credits in epidemiology, biostatistics, and electives, pass a comprehensive written examination, develop a substantial thesis, and showcase their work at the yearly poster symposium. MHS graduates typically advance to roles in research coordination, government policy, consulting, pharmaceutical research, or continue to doctoral programs after gaining professional experience across diverse sectors.
Admissions will waive this requirement for degree applicants only if a student has completed a four-year degree from an accredited U.S. institution.
Students must have IELTS Academic Band Score equal to 7, or a minimum score of 600 (paper-based), 250 (computer-based), and 100 (internet-based) on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL).
