The Ethnic Studies program focuses on analyzing how race, gender, class, sexuality, and other social divisions intersect to influence the histories and lived realities of marginalized communities. Our curriculum explores how these societal constructs determine access to resources, shape personal identities and perspectives, and perpetuate systemic inequities. Using cross-disciplinary approaches, we examine power dynamics, privilege, and justice as they relate to diverse populations both domestically and internationally. We prioritize developing socially conscious graduates who are equipped to enrich their local communities. Aligning with CSU's land-grant purpose, our program fosters collaborative relationships between campus and community to drive impactful transformations in policy and society.
