The Geology PhD curriculum mandates a minimum of 72 credit hours, with at least 24 dedicated to research and 36 to coursework. Applicants holding a thesis-based master's degree may transfer up to 36 credits (including a maximum of 24 from prior graduate-level courses) to acknowledge their previous academic achievements.
