The doctoral program offers a comprehensive historical education with personalized student focus. Our Ph.D. graduates emerge as versatile scholars and educators who excel in their specialized disciplines. During their initial year, candidates complete foundational courses in methodology and theory, participate in research seminars, and engage in both thematic and regional literature studies. They develop a research portfolio containing two substantial academic papers, earning their M.A. upon completion. The subsequent year involves advanced topical seminar work. By their third year's fall term, doctoral candidates undertake comprehensive written and oral examinations across four academic areas. The program includes pedagogical training, with chances to work as Teaching Assistants and lead independent courses with faculty guidance. All doctoral students are granted complete financial support (covering tuition and living expenses) for six years.
