The AMES interdisciplinary program seeks to deepen our comprehension of Asia in its global context. Covering languages and cultures that encompass over half the world's inhabitants, AMES explores diverse aspects including history, politics, religion, literature, visual and media arts, cultural expressions, and the region's principal languages.
Through cross-disciplinary studies and personalized guidance, students develop expertise in specific Asian areas while examining transregional influences that have molded shared historical experiences. Additionally, by integrating campus and external resources, the program encourages students to engage with diverse global perspectives.
AMES collaborates with 36 faculty members from departments such as Anthropology, Art History, Government, History, Modern Languages, Music, Religious Studies, Sociology, and Performing Arts. Two faculty members hold joint appointments (Anthropology and Modern Languages), while business school affiliates further expand our academic opportunities.
