Students pursuing a Classical Studies degree through the joint program will gain advantages from combining William & Mary's broad liberal arts curriculum with St Andrews' specialized focus. The two departments excel in complementary areas including ancient languages, historical studies, and archaeological research. Together, they enable learners to design adaptable academic plans for thorough exploration of Mediterranean civilizations spanning from the Bronze Age to Late Antiquity. Renowned for exceptional instruction and faculty research, both schools actively promote student involvement in scholarly projects, field excavations, and location-based learning. Numerous Mediterranean travel and immersion opportunities are available at both universities. The Classical Studies joint degree provides two academic tracks: an archaeology/ancient history concentration and a Greek/Latin language specialization.
