This BAS program offers a specialized focus in Environmental Laboratory Sciences, creating a unique bachelor's degree pathway for students who gain departmental approval for the BAS program or have earned an associate degree in a related field from an accredited institution with departmental approval. The degree builds upon AAS-EM technician-level knowledge, equipping graduates to advance their skills as environmental laboratory technicians.

Demonstrate understanding of USEPA Quality Control principles and analytical technologies for all sample types.
Suggest appropriate laboratory techniques and methodologies for environmental sample analysis.
Assess biochemical, inorganic, and organic data to determine data quality and inform decisions.
Classify all laboratory-generated waste streams according to regulations.
Identify optimal Best Management Practices (BMPs) and scientific approaches for laboratory workflow management.
Develop management action plans, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and technical reports.
Exhibit leadership capabilities within the environmental laboratory sciences profession.
