The Ophthalmic Technology Program equips graduates to become licensed opticians through comprehensive training. This program provides structured education and hands-on experience covering all professional aspects. Students receive instruction and lab training in: contact lens fitting, eyewear dispensing, lens finishing and surfacing methods, along with sales strategies, fundamental business practices, and communication skills. The curriculum also includes training for low vision devices, physician assistance techniques, and ocular prosthetics.

Upon completion, graduates qualify to sit for certification exams from the American Board of Opticianry and National Contact Lens Examiners. They're also eligible to take Nevada's licensing exam for dispensing opticians.

Program graduates can pursue careers as manufacturing or dispensing opticians, entry-level management roles in vision care, or establish their own independent optical practices.
