The Health Information Technology program offers an Associate of Applied Science Degree. This HIT program blends classroom instruction with hands-on training at clinical partner locations. Health data plays a crucial role in all facets of healthcare planning and service delivery. A patient's medical file holds critical details requiring careful analysis, classification, secure storage, and protection. These records facilitate communication among healthcare providers and originate from diverse medical environments, helping maintain continuous care while safeguarding the financial and legal rights of patients, facilities, and healthcare professionals.
Admission to this program is competitive. Certain prerequisite courses must be finished before students qualify for entry. Attendance at a Health Programs orientation session and consultation with a Health Programs advisor are mandatory requirements.
