The Liberal Studies program offers students a comprehensive education rooted in the liberal arts tradition. This interdisciplinary major equips students with knowledge across social sciences, natural sciences, and humanities while maintaining flexibility for personalized course selection. Students can enhance their broad academic foundation by pairing it with a specialized minor or secondary major. Graduates frequently continue their education through professional or graduate programs, while others enter diverse career fields immediately. The degree prepares students for numerous professions including: Artist, College Athletics Director, Counselor, Culinary Services Director, Educator, Financial Analyst, Government Official, Healthcare Provider, Journalist, Sales Manager, Entrepreneur, as well as careers in Development, Advertising, Communications, Business Management, HR, Legal Fields, Library Sciences, Market Research, Nonprofit Leadership, STEM Fields, Social Work, and Publishing.
Through the Liberal Studies curriculum, students cultivate essential abilities such as advanced writing proficiency, quantitative analysis, scientific understanding, and research capabilities. The program nurtures critical analysis, multifaceted problem-solving approaches, and strong communication skills. Ultimately, it fosters a deeper comprehension of our global society and its complexities.
If you have successfully completed your high school degree (12 years of primary and secondary education), you are considered an undergraduate student at CSU.
Meet minimum test score requirements:
TOEFL iBT (Internet-Based): 78 and at least 17 in each section
TOEFL PBT (Paper-Based): 550
IELTS: 6.0 and at least 5.0 in each section
PTE (Pearsons Test of English): 50
iTEP: 3.8
ACT English Score: 20
SAT Critical Reading Score: 470
