The ESED Ph.D. program equips students for professional paths in STEM education, including roles in university science education policy, informal learning environments, or other fields demanding strong subject-matter expertise combined with insights into student engagement, persistence, and diversity in STEM.
Program applicants should possess substantial graduate-level coursework (minimum 18 credits) in their STEM specialization. Upon completion, graduates will qualify for faculty positions in conventional science/engineering departments as well as dedicated STEM education programs.
