The Early Modern Studies program offers an interdisciplinary exploration of historical, literary, religious, and philosophical developments during the pivotal era bridging medieval and modern civilizations, characterized particularly by the emergence of printing, religious conflicts, and the formation of contemporary nation-states. This concentration examines what's alternatively referred to as the Early Modern period, Renaissance, Reformation, or Tudor-Stuart era in Britain (with some theological studies extending to Europe). Available to students across English, history, religion, and cultural studies programs within Claremont Graduate University's School of Arts and Humanities.
