Qualification Requirements

applicants for admission to Primate Behavior must have the following qualifications:

Applicants must have an undergraduate degree in anthropology, psychology, biology, or a related field. Before admission, program faculty will evaluate the academic course work and experience of all applicants for admission, and will recommend remedial course work if, in their judgment, there are deficiencies in pre-baccalaureate work which need to be overcome before entrance into the program. Admission to the program and continuation in it may be conditional on the applicant's satisfactory completion of remedial courses. Such courses will not count toward the program credit requirement, but in some cases they may be taken after admission to the program.
International applicants for whom English is a second language must provide TOEFEL scores to demonstrate English proficiency.
Applicants must arrange for a graduate faculty advisor in the program to serve as their major advisor. A 3.0 cumulative Grade Point Average - GPA - or above (on a 4.0 scale) is required to be academically admissible. The Graduate School calculates the last 90 quarter hour or last 60 semester hour GPA.
A score of 213 or above on the computer-based TOEFL, A score of 79 or above on the Internet-based TOEFL. a minimum International English Language Testing Systems (IELTS) academic score of 6.5 (scores should be no more than two years old at the time of application)
